About STEM Women Asia
STEM Women Asia is an online directory of women in Asia and Oceania working in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). STEM Women Asia aims to promote gender equity in STEM by showcasing the breadth of scientific talent in the region, enabling a diverse range of women to be offered exciting opportunities to progress their careers and personal capabilities.
STEM Women Asia aims to raise the profile and provide opportunities to those who may experience barriers throughout their STEM career.
This includes anyone who identifies as a woman, including cisgender (personal gender identity corresponds with sex assigned at birth), transgender (personal gender identity does not correspond with sex assigned at birth). We also recognise that there are individuals who suffer from discrimination because of gender or sexual identity who do not identify either fully or partially as a woman and who we welcome to be a part of this initiative e.g. intersex and non-binary individuals.
