Biography
I am a nutritional biochemist working as a scientist at Division of Biochemistry, ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi, India. I earned my undergraduate dual degree (Botany & Biotechnology) from Kerala University, post-graduate degree in Biotechnology from CUSAT, Kerala and doctorate from BDU, Trichy. My research career started at Nanyang technological University, Singapore as a research exchange student and later associated with various reputed organizations (SCTIMST, Kerala; IGIB, New Delhi; CIRCOT Mumbai). In my research career, I focused on characterizing the food matrix components and evaluating their nutraceutical value using various in vitro and in vivo models. Published more than fifty articles in journals of international repute, awarded a patent and developed various methodologies of commercial value. In addition to research being a faculty of post-graduate school, IARI I actively mentored students and researchers, and served as a resource-person in invited lectures and seminars. Few of my scientific recognitions include Fulbright-Nehru Post-doctoral research fellowship (2020), Plantae fellow (2020), INSA-INYAS member (2021-2025), Innovator award 2021 at flora-fauna summit, Young Woman Scientist Award (2019), IASc-INSA-NASI Summer Research Fellowship (2019), Young Scientist Award (2014& 2018) and Faculty excellence EET-Expo Edu Award (2015). I am interested to collaborate and venture into transdisciplinary areas of research.
