Biography

Dr. Pooja is currently working as a principal scientist at CSIR-CSIO, Chandigarh. She has done her Ph.D. in Material Science from AcSIR and M. Tech. in Nanotechnology from IIT Roorkee. Her research interest includes catalyst design for clean energy solution specifically Hydrogen energy, water and air pollutants degradation. She is also working on sensors and systems design for water pollutants monitoring. In a short period of time, she has published 69 international high impact publications, edited 07 books, 12 book chapters, 84 conference papers, and delivered 55 invited/oral talks. She is recipient of several prestigious awards and fellowships including SERB Women Excellence Award (2020), INAE Young Engineer Award (2021), Young Associateship of Indian Academy of Science (2019-22); Young Scientist Award (2019) from Indian Science Congress Association, Young Scientist Award (2019) from International Society for Energy, Environment and Sustainability, BRICS Young Scientist Award (2018) from DST, New Delhi, GC Jain Memorial Best Thesis Award (2020) by Material Research Society of India, Indo-US WARI fellowship (2017), Canadian Commonwealth Fellowship (2010), etc. She is also core committee member of Indian Young National Academy of Science, INSA, and New Delhi. Besides, her research activities, she is involved in various science outreach activities under CSIR-JIGYASA, and VIGYAN JYOTI programs for motivating school students for science.
